The Hamptons

My two-night stay at the Wave Crest Resort right at the beach in Montauk was awesome, it’s affordable though cozy. After some busy days of travelling around and exploring new places, I enjoyed some downtime at the beach. Last Wednesday I arrived at the resort in the evening, after an exhausting 8 hour drive, too much traffic and getting lost a couple of times, thanks to my GPS-app, I’ve been pretty desperate a few times.

As I explained my delay to the receptionist at the check-in the next morning, (I arrived at 6p.m. so the reception was already closed, but they put my room keys in a box) and that my GPS led me the wrong way, she told me, that this happens all the time, there are two highways with the same name, and it just directed me to the other one about 10 miles away somewhere into nowhere. Great I thought, and then she meant, maybe she should put some information about it on the website, I responded, that this would not be a bad idea!

From then on everything went smoothly. I had a really peaceful, relaxing day at the beach. I’ve seen a really beautiful sunrise, went running, soaked up the sun and watched the waves. Luckily there haven’t been too many tourists, so I had the beach almost to myself all day. There even was a kitchenette in my room, so I made me some yummy pasta for dinner.

On Thursday I was on to another long 8 hour drive, with getting stuck for about two hours around New York, till I finally arrived in Pennsville for an overnight. But before I got on the road again, I explored the East Hamptons for a short while and did some photography.
