Hiking in the Bernese Oberland

Last weekend I went hiking at Sparenmoos, a wetland high plateau above Zweisimmen, with these three girls.

Before the sun came out, the sky looked pretty much like that, but the landscape and views were incredibly beautiful anyway.

We passed chalets like this one.

And finally the sky brightened up.

We walked by snow angels, made by former hikers.

After about 1.5 hours of hiking we had some pick nick in the snow enjoying the warm sun and blue sky and the panorama in front of us.

It felt so good to finally be in the sun, after days of rain and cloudy skies down in the lowland.

What a beautiful day it was…

White frost

It’s already two days into the New Year, and I hope you all had a nice and smooth transition. My past year was beautiful as well as incredibly turbulent at times. I’ve seen a lot, made decisions, went on adventures, met new friends and spent time with good old friends and family. In many ways I wish this year will be as good as the past, in other ways I wish it will get better. I’m thankful for everything in 2016 and I’m sure, there will be a lot to be thankful for in the New Year. I wish you all the best, lots of love, health and happiness, beautiful moments, precious time with your loved ones, the motivation and energy to change the things you want to be different and the courage to make decisions and may you enjoy every day and live life to the fullest!

Today I went on a beautiful walk at a pretty lake, with grass and trees covered with white frost. Sometimes the sun beamed through the fog and the landscape was drenched in golden light. I let the pictures tell the story…

Winter wonderland

Hiking from Pontresina to St. Moritz, was pretty neat, well actually it was more of an extended walk. I was really glad to escape the foggy and rainy weather down in Zurich and enjoy the bright sun up in the mountains.

It was pure bliss walking the snowy path from Pontresina to St. Moritz, passing by squirrels and horses, the frozen “Lej da Staz”, a small lake embedded in a beautiful Landscape. We arrived at the “Meierei” a country inn right before St. Moritz and had some delicious tarte flambée before heading to our destination.

Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to walk through the streets of St. Moritz because we had to catch our train, so we marveled at it from a distance. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, makes me wish it was already spring again…

Driving home was just as pretty as the sun set.
