Since the weather on my second day
in DC wasn’t as nice as on the first day, I decided to visit the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum. Most museums there are free and provide so much interesting
information and historical knowledge.
Before you visit the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum, you should consider a few things. Take enough time
to visit, there are different exhibitions. For the permanent exhibition
you have to book free tickets in advance. There can be some waiting time due to strict
security control at the entrance.
I’ve also went through the Some where neighbors
exhibition. You’ll
read about a lot of facts about the Holocaust and will see interviews with
survivors who tell their stories, either of people they knew who helped them or
betrayed them, of friends who became enemies or held to them, though they
risked their lives through doing so.
Still I can’t and won’t ever find
the right and appropriate words for this dark part of history. The exhibition
was very saddening, stirring and touching.
