Key West

Arriving in Key West was a bit of a hustle since there where only about 4 parking lots available at our hotel and all were taken already, so we had to search for one close by, which wasn’t an easy task, since there was a food festival going on and there were so many people on the island, but we were lucky and found one within walking distance to our place. Checking in was another obstacle, the receptionist gave each one of us the wrong keys for our rooms that were already occupied. In the end all turned out well and each of us got their room.

A spectacular sunset at Southernmost Point made up for every stress.

And one more, because isn’t it a sight to see?
We definitely weren’t the only one watching the sunset, I mean as much as I enjoy a sunset in peace and quiet, I love the thought how such a simple, beautiful natural thing attracts so many people and gives joy. Also to stand in the most southern place of the USA accessible to the public, is pretty awesome.

In fact, the most southern point of the USA lays right next to it on a US Navy Base where there is no trespassing.
We strolled through the beautiful village as long as it wasn’t dark already and passed some neat houses. Honestly, I'd love to plant palm trees and keep this summer feeling all year long.
We had dinner at this fancy restaurant.
Another day, another sunrise and we were off to the Everglades. Unfortunately we just didn't have enough time to see more of the beautiful island that is Key West, a reason to return...

Island hopping.
Breakfast at iHop.
The Everglades are for another post. To be continued...
