On the 4th
of July, we drove up the Westcoast to San Francisco. It was pure bliss. We
stopped every now and then along the coast to soak in the beautiful views and
take pictures. On our way, we visited Half Moon Bay and saw the Ritz-Carlton
Hotel.
This has
been the weather pretty much all the time at the Westcoast. The sun rarely
showed up.
We
stopped at Big Sur.
Finally
the sky cleared up.

Half Moon
Bay.
The water
was freezing, can you tell?

Arriving
at San Francisco was a little bit of a drama. First we could hardly find a
parking space, second, we were shocked about our Airbnb place. It was gross,
the bathroom dirty, the bedroom too tidy, our hostess unfriendly and barely
dressed. The reviews were good, the pictures looked nice, so we thought, it’d
be a good choice, little did we know back then… So we thought about changing to
a hotel, went to see a room at one nearby. Weight out the pros and cos, finally
decided to stay at the Airbnb, beceause we were just too exhausted and stressed
out to go look around for another place to stay. We then decided to spend as
less time as possible there. That was a bummer.
Then we
headed out to Pier 39 to meet my former fellow student when I studied midwifery
way back when, whom I haven’t seen in five years. We so happened to find out,
that we both were travelling the states at the same time and that our paths
would cross in San Francisco, so we thought, why not meeting there on the 4th
of July. It’s a small world I tell you, it was so fun to meet her and her
boyfriend.
But first Salome and I enjoyed some yummy fish and chips while watching the fireworks.
