Savannah is a charming southern city
in Georgia. The people are truly nice, welcoming and friendly. We really liked
it here.
But before we arrived in beautiful
Savannah, we enjoyed some of these pretty sights along our way after leaving
St. Augustine.
A raccoon crossing the street.
Between St. Augustine and Savannah
the weather mostly looked like this, still a little stormy…
Our Hotel in Savannah.
The rooms were so cozy and pretty. I love the Southern furnishing style.
After checking in, we went on a sightseeing
bus tour through town. Sometimes I love doing this to get an overview over a
city and a brief sight of the places I might visit and take a closer look at
it. The staff at our hotel was kind enough to recommend us the best bus tours
in Savannah and organized a shuttle that brought us to the starting point.
We fell in love with Savannah immediately.
We loved strolling through all these pretty streets with its gorgeous houses.
Love these windows.
Let's take a closer look.
Love what this sign of the Trinity
Church is saying, so true.
All this Spanish Moss, never seen it
before, but I thinks it’s pretty special. It grows on the southern live oak as
well on the bald-cypress. It’s not actually a moss, just a flowering plant.
In Savannah they say, houses with window
shutters painted light blue like these, are hunted, well who knows…
Forsyth Park.
We stopped by at The Cathedral of
St. John the Baptist.
A
little outside of Savannah, about 15 minutes by car, there’s the Bonaventure
Cemetery, a peaceful place full of history.
We had some yummy ice cream at
Leopold’s, they say they have the best in town. It didn’t disappoint.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at The
Olde Pink House, next to our hotel The Planters Inn. If you’d like to eat
there, make your reservation early, as it’s booked out very fast. The waiters
and waitresses are really friendly and love to tell you more about the history
of this house.
Sorry for the blurry pics, I only
had my iPhone with me this evening.
It was the perfect ending of our
stay in Savannah, we were happy to have been there.
